Death At The MACC

19.7.2009

My brief response to Malaysia Insider on the death of Teoh Beng Hock at MACC’s office and Utusan Malaysia’s provocative comment that it is not only the non-Malays who know how to express their anger.

I write this as a former member of an enforcement Agency.

It pains me no end when I read about the blatant and audacious transgression of the law by my former brethren- at-arms.

Reading the BN-controlled media, we are often made to believe that suspected criminals always fire the first shot at the Police but miraculously, the Police escape unscathed and the suspected criminal always ends up being killed; an ertswhile healthy youth is detained by the Police and he suddenly collapses and dies of natural causes; BN politicians' ostentatious living and excesses are exposed by the opposition but neither the police nor the MACC make even a feeble attempt to look into these complaints; someone writes in his blog that an Exco members office in Selangor is being frequented by " shady characters " without an iota of evidence to substantiate his claim and yet none other than the AG himself comes out with guns-ablazing and orders an immediate investigations ( thereby bringing this art of apple-polishing to even greater heights in this country )!

When a PR politician who was on the threshold of a promising political career is cut down mercilessly whilst being a “guest” of the MACC, all that the UMNO-controlled media can think of is to state the obvious: that it is not only the non-Malays who know how to express their anger and they go off in a tangent and spin the entire issue into a racial one. To the Editor who wrote that nauseating article, I have this to say: just pray that this never happens to you or your loved ones. May the twisted image of TBH haunt you and your family for the rest of your lives.

The silence from the BN politicians especially from the MCA , Gerakan and MIC is really deafening and you should be ashamed to consider yourselves to be leaders of your community!!!!
But there is also a positive side to this sordid episode.

With one master stroke, the MACC has brought Najib's fabled 1Malaysia to its knees and had helped the opposition to secure another notch on their long and arduous journey to Putrajaya.

To the BN politicians, I say this: fear the next GE.
