My Maiden Entry

Hi there,

Like everyone else out there, the pull of cyberspace has compelled me to join the ranks of the bloggers! It seems its soooooooooo unfashionable and soooooooo out of snyc if u dont blog. Hey, dont just take my word for it; ask some of our Ministers and politicians who have also jumped on the bandwagon ( although they continue to churn out the same inane rubbish as if their blog was a Barisan-controlled newspaper!!!)......... the very same guys who only a couple of months ago ( read as pre-electoral tsunami ) hurled every imaginable abuse at bloggers!!!!

As I am not too computer-savvy, setting up my blog seemed like a monumental task. I was wrong! That was a piece of cake..... a walk in the park......perkara enteng! The real task that I am facing now is how do I divert all that traffic from chedet.com on to my blog? What do I post in my blog that will grab the public's imagination that it will compell them to dump their daily newspapers in the trash can and drive them in droves to my blog? Heck, your postings would mean nothing,I mean nothing at all, if it turns out that u are the only one who reads it daily...rite or am I wrong?

Having said that, I also hope, by the Grace of God, to abide by certain rules of conduct and ethics. For instance,I shall not indulge in self-censorship. As long as my post does not touch on the sensivities of race or religion, I shall say things as I deem fit. I have also told my self that I shall not indulge in " irresponsible blogging". Where it matters, I intend to stand-up and be counted. I also told myself that I shall have a field day with irresponsible and arrogant Ministers and politicians... something which I have not been able to do with our mainstream media. Datuk Seri Nazri comes to my mind immediately.... post-election, he seemed to have shed himself of arrogance ( remember his term for street demonstrators as "penyanga") and he seems such a gentleman these days ( remember his dressing down of the security guards at Parliament House who took it upon themselves to play the role of Fashion Police?).

I hope that I will find the time and the abilty to express myself on a myriad of issues confronting the nation in general and the men in the street, in particular. If any of my postings leave a bitter after-taste or ruffles the feathers of any individual or organisations, it must not be forgotten that this is also My Malaysia... right or wrong!
